Georg Phillip Telemann (March 14, 1681 – June 25, 1767) was a German Baroque composer. He was one of the most prolific composers of all time: he wrote more than three thousand works that have survived. Telemann was a very popular and influential composer during his lifetime. He is recognized as being an important figure in the transition from the Baroque to the Classical period of classical music.
