Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni (June 8, 1671 – January 17, 1751) was an Italian Baroque composer. During his lifetime, Albinoni was primarily known for his operas, but most of his operas have been lost; and today, he is mainly known for his instrumental music, especially his oboe concertos. A famous piece titled Adagio in G minor has been misattributed to Albinoni: the piece was actually written by twentieth-century musicologist and Albinoni biographer Remo Giazotto, though Giazotto claimed that the Adagio was based on a fragment of a manuscript written by Albinoni.
