Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (February 3, 1809 – November 4, 1847), commonly known as Felix Mendelssohn, was a German Romantic composer. He is remembered for his incidental music for A Midsummer Night's Dream, his third and fourth symphonies (titled Scottish and Italian, respectively), and his violin concerto.
